Effect of a massage on the blood circulation system

The massage has several effects on the human body. However, one of the most important is the effect on the blood circulation system. In this article, we would like to discuss the specific effects of the massage on the human blood flow.

The first one is the improvement of the blood pressure. Many people have health problems due to increased blood pressure. High blood pressure or hypertonia is frequently related with the easy of the blood flow circulation. The higher viscosity of the blood or the smaller cross section of the blood vessels provokes difficulty in the blood circulation.

The viscosity of the blood may be decreased with regular drinking of water – at least 1.5 – 2 liters per day (excluding juices, soups, tea, coffee, etc.). The cross-section of the blood vessels increases when the body is warm: many people with high blood pressure know that in summer time they have less problems than in winter time. This is due to the ability of the blood vessels to increase their cross section in hot environment (so called vasodilatation) or to decrease it (vasoconstriction).

Any kind of massage makes the body warmer, thus provoking the process of vasodilatation of the blood vessels. The whole-body massage in a robotic massage chair has the greatest advantage. But even the partial massage of the feet (better) or hands, can reduce the blood pressure using the same mechanisms. Massage at home can be an easy and very pleasant way to solve

this problem.

The second important impact of the massage is on the massive positive influence on all organs in the human body, due to the warming of the body and the increment of the blood flow with fresh oxygen. This is a key element of a healthy life.

The next positive influence is on the fascia. Fascia is a thin layer of tissue over the muscles. The fascia is connected to all key blood vessels. Thus the massage can also decrease the amount of muscle cramps, while preserving the skin, and the organ functions.
