Massage, physical activity and longevity

The physical activity, besides nutrition, is a very important factor for the longevity of man. The study of the biographies of centenarians shows that almost all are dynamic people, physically active and hardworking. For the most part these are people of physical labor. Those who are doing intellectual work, harmoniously combine the mental with physical activity or replace it with sport, hiking, nature walks, and psychophysical disciplines as yoga. An unchanging part of them consists of rest and relaxation, often combined with meditation.

Eastern modes of activities and sport disciplines differ from Western sports. They adhere to the principle of moderation and consistency, avoid exhausting exercise and fatigue. It is not by accident the definition - psychophysical disciplines: strengthening his physics, one also concentrates his mind to properly direct the vital energy in the body, to achieve a soul's tranquility that leads to harmony with nature.

Conversely, Western sports is betting on the race, which must be kept and contradicted. Research has shown that practicing racing sports are more harmful than good for athletes' health. Practice shows that a huge percentage of elite athletes after finishing their competitive career are disabled to one degree or another. The biggest injuries are those of the cardiovascular system, the spine, the knee joints. Scientists claim that 90% of active athletes complain of joint and waist pain in their elderly years.

From the point of view of longevity, the most beneficial for health are the exercises and the natural movements that are practiced in the open environment or nature: running, swimming, hiking, sport walking, martial arts, dancing, etc. Regular massage therapy also gives excellent results. The most beneficial for health are those physical exercises which are natural, do not cause overload and overwork and can be practiced for a long time, evenly loading the whole body.
